๐Summer has arrived, and there’s no better place to be than outdoors, soaking up the sunshine and fresh air with our little girl. At three years old, she’s bursting with curiosity and energy, ready to explore every leaf, bug, and flower nature has to offer.
๐๐ฟMost mornings, we pack a small picnic and head to the park or a nearby trail. She insists on carrying her own tiny backpack, which usually holds very important things—like a toy bunny, a plastic magnifying glass, and sometimes a slightly squished snack.
๐๐Once we’re out in nature, her joy is contagious. She squeals with excitement at the sight of butterflies flitting past and tries to follow them, arms outstretched. Every stick becomes a magic wand, and every rock is a treasure worth collecting.
๐She loves picking wildflowers (carefully, where it’s allowed) and creating little bouquets for us. One minute she’s chasing grasshoppers; the next, she’s lying in the grass, staring up at the clouds and announcing which ones look like cats, castles, or ice cream cones.
๐ป๐งWater play is another summer favorite. Whether it’s splashing in a shallow creek or dipping her toes into the cool lake water, she’s fearless and full of laughter. We always bring extra clothes, because somehow she ends up soaking wet, no matter how careful we try to be!
๐These summer days feel magical—full of simple moments, sunshine, and wonder. Watching our little girl explore the world reminds us how beautiful and fascinating nature truly is. We’re making memories under the wide blue sky, and we know we’ll treasure them for years to come.

Better balance: Walking without shoes helps muscles and coordination grow naturally. Stress relief: Nature calms little minds, reducing anxiety and encouraging creativity. Co...
How to Sew Your Own Shorts: A Step-by-Step Guide
Sewing your own shorts is a fun and rewarding project, whether you’re a beginner looking for a simple garment to practice on or an experienced sewist wanting to customize your wardrobe. Here’s how I sewed my own pair of shorts, step by step! What You’ll Need ✅ A shorts sewing pattern (commercial or self-drafted) ✅ Fabric (lightweight cotton, linen, or knit fabrics work well) ✅ Matching thread ✅ Elastic (if making elastic-waist shorts) ✅ Scissors or rotary cutter ✅ Pins or clips ✅ Sewing machine ✅ Iron Step 1: Choose a Pattern and Fabric I started by picking a simple shorts pattern. There are many beginner-friendly patterns available online. I chose a basic elastic-waist style for comfort and ease. Be sure to pre-wash your fabric to avoid shrinkage later. Step 2: Cut Out the Fabric Pieces I laid out my fabric on a flat surface and pinned my pattern pieces on top. Following the pattern instructions, I cut out two front pieces and two back pieces, plus waistband pieces i...
Life on a Small Farm: Work, Play, and the Joy of Animals
There is something deeply grounding about life on a small farm. Each day begins not with the sound of traffic or alarm clocks, but with the gentle clucking of chickens greeting the morning and the soft bleating of goats eager for their breakfast. Caring for animals has a rhythm of its own, one that connects us to the earth and to the present moment. Raising chickens brings simple joys — collecting fresh eggs still warm from the nest, watching them scratch around the yard, or simply noticing their quirky personalities. Goats, with their playful energy and mischievous curiosity, remind us daily not to take life too seriously. Spending time with them isn’t just about chores; it’s about laughter, companionship, and the calming effect of being surrounded by creatures that live so fully in the now. Farm work may seem like labor to some, but here it feels like a gift. The physical tasks of feeding, cleaning, and tending are balanced by the rewards — nourishing food, a closer bond with nature,...
